Dr. Anju Jolly

Our life is a mosaic made of fragments of our experiences. In my work, I aim to bring together the fragments of my life – my faith, my love for art and education, travels to worlds and cultures afar, and my treasured roles as a wife, mother, and a neighbor. I am a retired professor of education, who worked at Penn State for 25+ years. I see my mosaics as an extension of my teaching where art serves as a language that communicates culture, values, faith, and beauty.

I am a self-taught mosaic artist. I make liberal use of vibrant colors and textures to capture the emotions of life lived in relationships, in nature, in floral designs, and in timeless themes. Fascinated and inspired by the mosaics done in Europe that have lasted for hundreds of years, I use materials that produce durable works which will last much more than my lifetime.

I have been making mosaics for the last 15 years. My recent permanent installations can be seen at DuBois Public Library, Penn State DuBois campus, and Treasure Lake Church in DuBois.

I hope that as you experience images in my gallery, they may help you to see life a little more beautiful and enlightening.
